GitHub - DEI Mental Health Case Study
Our team was delighted when we had the opportunity to work with GitHub’s Employee Resource for Marginalized Genders.
More than 83 million people use Github to contribute to over 200 million projects, which is why we are thrilled to hear that GitHub’s leadership was dedicated to committing company resources to support the mental health and well-being of their employees who are queer, transgender, or non-binary. As more prominent organizations create cultures where everyone feels psychologically safe and free to bring their full selves to work, this can have significant impacts on society as a whole.
The cohort for this initiative included 40+ GitHub employees who completed twelve 90-minute online sessions led by skilled Abroad facilitators. In addition to the live sessions, the employees also did separate peer-to-peer exercises and were given access to Abroad’s digital platform that includes a people analytics suite, digital learning content, and the ability to track learning insights throughout the program.
